A Night You’ll Never Forget: The New Spoiling You Campaign
5 months ago
– Wed, Nov 19, 2025 at 06:20:43 AM
Hello everyone!
Today I’m very excited to share news about the launch of a new campaign for Spoiling You, directed by and starring Megan Tremethick, our beautiful leading lady who played Nemain in The Slave and the Sorcerer.
If you missed out on Spoiling You the first time around, you can now catch the J-Horror-inspired directorial debut of Megan Tremethick, featuring her in a spine-tingling role as the sensual ASMR host ‘Miss Mutter’, whose prize-winning No. 1 fan receives a night he’ll never forget. ☺
Spoiling You is already in an advanced stage of post-production, but this new campaign offers an opportunity for new backers to pledge for Blu-rays, photo-sets, and a host of wonderful rewards featuring her unforgettable character, Miss Mutter.
Trust me when I say she is unforgettable. I’ve been overseeing the edit and this film is a kind of magnum opus of epic horror proportions and wildly intense performances. In my opinion, Megan truly sets herself apart with this and deserves our support in helping her make the film the very best it can be.
It represents everything we aspire to nurture within independent film. She has created a horror experience quite unlike anything else, with a performance that is genuinely courageous and utterly unrestrained, ranging from Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire to Asami in Takashi Miike’s Audition.
EXCLUSIVE STILLS
Megan describes her film as having “a beautiful and tragic streak, and yet it is deeply unsettling too.”
Some photographs would give away too much, and others are perhaps a little too extreme to share here, but I hope these stills give you a flavour of what Megan is creating.
BEAUTIFUL REWARDS
Do visit the campaign page to see all the gorgeous rewards Megan has on offer, but here is one of my favourites. The sumptuous Blu-ray.
Megan Tremethick is an intensely emotional and committed actress whose love of vintage horror and classic cinema has led some to compare her to Vivien Leigh, to whom she bears a striking resemblance, both inside and out.
In Spoiling You, her performance carries that comparison remarkably well. It is wild, emotional and deeply expressive, and I believe it marks her as a very special young woman. I genuinely believe in her and in this film, and I hope you will join me in supporting a rare talent, someone who stands for everything we cherish in horror cinema, and who proudly carries the flag for traditional horror, classic film and theatre-inspired performance.
The Book of Beastly Creatures: Volume II has finally arrived, and we will be posting these out shortly! Huzzah!

Dear friends,
We’ve got something special to share with you. Many of you will know Megan Tremethick from Amicus Productions’ In the Grip of Terror, and she is now starring in the 90s-inspired horror film Mr Whispers, currently live on Kickstarter.
To celebrate, Megan has directed and produced an exclusive series of photo-sets for our backers, available as add-ons. Her latest set features a daring gothic studded bikini look, dripping with late-90s goth glamour, dark, dangerous and utterly irresistible. It is pure 90s gothic attitude.
The previews you have seen so far were captured by Megan herself. The finished sets will be photographed by Michael Brewster and directed by Megan, featuring not one but two striking goth costumes. In addition, there are seven more sets available as add-ons, including her Amicus Glamour collection of over 100 photos, and an 80s-inspired sword and sorcery set that harkens back to the glory days of fantasy cinema.
Thank you again for supporting independent horror. With your help, we are creating something truly unforgettable. It is also worth noting that the B-Team is a horror studio led by Megan Tremethick, a remarkable achievement for such an ambitious and very special young lady.
And... Don't Forget!
You can still pledge for our epic Sword and Sorcery photo-set featuring Nemain the Sorceress in poses inspired by the legendary artwork of Frank Frazetta. This reward also includes a second set showcasing her as Karella the Sword Maiden.
The Slave and the General Update
In the meantime, we are preparing for the next shooting block of The Slave and the General. The film stars Megan Tremethick, returning as Nemain, along with Rhyn and Tyrol, our heroes from the first film. Production is scheduled to begin this October!
Shooting is set to start in October!
Nemain the Sorceress Launches Her Own Horror Studio!

I have always been a huge fan of retro horror and exploitation cinema. In fact, Roger Corman himself was a patron of Hex Studios, which produced The Slave and the Sorcerer. So it was a delightful surprise when Megan Tremethick, who played Nemain in The Slave and the Sorcerer, expressed her desire to direct and produce her own horror films.
That journey began with her J-horror-inspired, early-noughties-style film (which I reckon Takeshi Miike would approve of) called Spoiling You. After that, we talked more about her love of horror and fantasy, which eventually led to a conversation with the young filmmakers working with us as crew.
They, like Meg, shared a desire to make their own horror movies, and, like me, also shared a love of classic horror while feeling less enamoured with present-day offerings.
It made Sarah Daly (my partner at Hex Studios) and me wonder: could they be the blood and iron behind a new horror studio venture? With great humility, we had always joked about a “B-Team” consisting of our misfits (we see ourselves as misfits and nerds here), and it became a badge of pride.
So, the B-Team was born led by Megan Tremethick!
The B-Team’s First Film?
When setting up the studio, we needed two people who were willing to handle administration, had some experience managing paperwork, and were also huge devotees of filmmaking and fans of horror art. Suffice to say, the first choice was obvious: our very own Miss Amicus, Megan Tremethick, who starred in In the Grip of Terror while also directing and producing her own feature film, Spoiling You.
Alongside her was Paul William Kelly, a man who dropped everything, including years with a prestigious firm, to start a new life eating crispy sausage rolls beside me in Scotland. Surrounding them is a team of talented creatives who share our mission of transforming the indie horror film scene.
For their first film, the team wanted to produce something that focused on atmosphere, combining a setting inspired by the 1990s era of ascendant indie horror with something steeped in the past… the 1920s, in fact, in the form of a creepy cartoon and an abandoned cinema.
The Mr Whispers Kickstarter
They have worked like maniacs on the film, setting themselves a tough and ambitious pace, but it has paid off. The film is already in advanced post-production and will be completed just a few months after the end of their Kickstarter campaign.
I also think it is great that Megan not only stars in Mr Whispers, but is helping to lead the B-Team. It is just really good to see an ambitious young woman with such a love for retro things (she even eats potted meat in Scotland… clearly she is possessed by a granny from the 1940s). I do not know, it just feels good. It makes me optimistic about the future of horror.
So far, the Kickstarter campaign is approaching its stretch goals, having already reached the milestone of its initial target. Now, the extra funds are all about improving the film, enhancing the rewards, and providing a financial base for the B-Team Studio to develop further.
The 48-Hour Match Pledger!
Offering the B-Team great assistance is a generous match pledger, who will be matching every pledge or upgrade made during the Mr Whispers campaign over the next 48 hours.
This is where you come in. Working together, we have the power to help them grow and to shape their creative destiny in a positive direction, championing the kind of horror we feel is missing from the current British filmmaking scene.
The campaign has some great rewards, and a new set of add-ons has just been announced.
There are Blu-rays, “Thank You” credit bundles which will see your name in the film and on IMDb, not to mention producer rewards which offer the most strategic support of all. Megan has also released her amazing photo sets as rewards on the Mr Whispers campaign.
Megan Tremethick’s Photo-Set Rewards
I am not going to lie: the soft spot I have for the beautiful ladies of Hammer is softer than my tummy after a Friday night visit to the Amritsar Tandoori restaurant. Phwoar.
Megan is a beauty in that mould, and she loves the glamour of that era. In collaboration with cinematographer Michael Brewster, she has produced a series of photo sets which are available as add-ons in the Mr Whispers Kickstarter campaign.
And with all the funds going towards supporting the B-Team, let me introduce you to those glorious goodies here.
90s Glamour Goth Photo-Set
A wonderfully sensual set inspired by 90s goth glamour. She'll be sharing a preview image later this week, but for now, here are examples from the other add-on sets.
Amicus Glamour Photo-Set
Over 100 photographs paying tribute to Ingrid Pitt and her character Carla the Vampire from The House That Dripped Blood. Includes bonus “Amicus Secretary” and “70s It Girl” sets. All in one big, glamorous pack.
Femme Fatale Photo-Set
A sultry set inspired by the eroticism of film noir and the suspense of Hitchcock featuring almost one hundred photos.
Kawaii Glamour Photo-Set
Cheeky, colourful, and influenced by Meg's love of anime and manga which forms part of the inspiration for her film Spoiling You (also available as an add-on Blu-Ray in the Mr Whispers campaign).
Osoroshii Photo-Set
Inspired by Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s Wicked City, this set features beautiful but deadly demon ladies. Some images are a little too intense and violent to post here... you’ve been warned.
Hammer Goddess Photo-Set
Meg's tribute to the iconic women of Hammer Horror... (grab your pacemaker)
Sword and Sorcery Photo-Set
Features Meg's characters Nemain (from The Slave and the Sorcerer) and her own creation, Karella (a fierce sword maiden and assassin.)
Jigme's Tales (ASMR Tales & Photo-Set)
A special reward featuring Meg's original character Jigme, a deadly assassin in service of the Old Ones. Includes a stunning photo collection plus three short stories she's written (inspired by Robert E. Howard), each with video, MP3, and PDF versions all narrated by her good self
BONUS PHOTOS
Anyone that pledge for three or more photo-sets will also get extra pictures and behind-the-scenes goodies. Already pledged for three or more? You’ll get them too. Meg told me to make it clear, she never forgets her supporters.
How to Include Add-ons in Your Pledge
Here is how to add these to a pledge, if you've already made one to Mr Whispers.
1 Click Manage Pledge.
2 Click Change Pledge.
3 Hit Continue to Payment.
4 Click Add-ons to see the full list of glorious upgrade options.
So What's Next?
I will be gathering the Amicus goodies so that we can prepare for the huge postage operation, while also doing everything in my power to help the B-Team succeed with their campaign for Mr Whispers.
Nemain the Sorceress Launches Horror Studio on Kickstarter!
– Wed, Aug 06, 2025 at 06:16:55 AM
The beautiful Megan Tremethick, who so wonderfully played the sorceress Nemain in The Slave and the Sorcerer (pictured above beside the Tomb Lord, in a behind-the-scenes moment from our sequel film The Slave and the General), has launched her own retro horror film studio, called The B-Team.
AND... I’ve been working late nights and overtime, helping her and the team to get all their fantastic designs and graphics ready for their very first Kickstarter campaign. This is no small matter. It will make or break the B-Team and determine whether we can develop this small horror outfit into something real and sustainable.
It all begins today on the launch of their campaign for their debut horror feature film Mr Whispers. I’ve devoted myself to helping them succeed because The B-Team takes inspiration from the likes of Tigon, a retro British studio behind cult classics such as Blood on Satan’s Claw and Witchfinder General. Back in the day, Tigon was unafraid to take risks with its material, producing some of the most subversive and memorable British horror films ever made.
With a logo inspired by Tigon’s tiger, the B-Team’s cat now meows at us for support, as cats tend to do, whether they’re hungry or not.
The first 48 hours is the most critical period for any Kickstarter. God knows, I’ve been there and done that with Hex Studios and Amicus Productions. The B-Team are taking no chances. They’ve thrown everything into this, with beautifully designed Blu-rays and bundles inspired by the structure of our own past campaigns. In fact, we’re even guaranteeing the rewards for this campaign, drawing on our years of experience manufacturing and shipping things, even to Timbuktu!
I also feature in a hilarious skit in the Mr Whispers pitch video, which I think you’ll find very amusing, although it may confirm every terrible cliché about movie producers!
It will also give you a great sense of the film’s wonderful focus on atmosphere, character, and an intense, sinister quality that reaches out from the past, specifically from a 1920s era I’m particularly fond of.
The Mr Whispers Rewards
Let’s take a wee peek at some of the goodies on offer! First up is a gorgeous cardboard slipcase design featuring a bold yellow border, evocative of Giallo, and stunning digitally painted artwork of Mr Whispers. The back cover features Rebecca from her special day with us via the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Inside, the Blu-ray case presents a photography-inspired design, continuing the aesthetic of our recent Hex Studios releases.
The campaign also offers a Complete Edition of the Blu-ray, which comes packed with sumptuous extras, including two signed postcards and a black lipstick smooch from Miss Amicus herself, Megan Tremethick. There’s also a bonus alternate cut of the film included in the extras.
Alongside the Complete Edition, backers can pledge for various bundles including books, films, stickers, badges, and more. These also include the opportunity to have your name featured in the end credits of the film and on IMDb.
For those with more resources at their disposal, I’d encourage you to consider the Producer tier rewards. These will allow both you and us to give the B-Team more strategic support as we work to grow that horror studio.
I hope is to see the B-Team evolve into a full-fledged member of the BHS, a horror studio capable of producing unusual, daring films to sit alongside our classic Gothic fare at Hex Studios and the wonderful works of Amicus Productions.
At the Producer level, especially Executive Producer, folks will have the chance to get more intimately involved. You can even visit the studio or perform in a future film. The ultimate goal is to see the B-Team producing four films a year.
Imagine the opportunities for participation there! But it all rests on us supporting their campaign now, especially in these vital first 24 hours.
I’ll also add this. Kickstarter doesn’t take any funds until the very end of the campaign, so pledging now simply reserves your chosen item.
Where Can I Pledge?
I cannot stress enough how important it is that everyone pledges what they can. Whether it’s a pound or the purchase of a film, your support will help give the B-Team the best possible start. This is exactly the kind of independent horror we want to see thrive, in a marketplace increasingly dominated by public-domain cash-ins and tired imitation.
