We Launch Hitchcockian Horror 'Black Chariot' on Hitchcock's Birthday AND Slave 2 News!
– Tue, Aug 13, 2024 at 09:33:12 AM
Greetings, my friends. I have two very important updates. The first pertains to the announcement of Black Chariot, our loving tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, who was born on this very day in 1899. Timing our release to coincide with his birthday is our little tribute to a man who, alongside Akira Kurosawa and Ken Russell, is among my greatest cinematic influences.
I'm also excited to share more information about our upcoming sequel to The Slave and the Sorcerer and provide you with a schedule plan to give you a better idea of when we'll be making this film!
I also have the honour (or disservice, haha) of performing as the legendary filmmaker himself in my pitch video for Black Chariot. This is also a loving tribute to the unique trailers Hitchcock produced for films such as Psycho, The Birds, and Frenzy. In these films, he would appear as himself, regaling the audience with the ominous tale of his film in a sort of meta-fashion that placed him years ahead of his time.
So... of course, our pitch video had to do the same!
Black Chariot is an extremely creepy, retro horror filled with atmosphere and suspense. The story concerns a mysterious red case whose secret contents cast a dark shadow over those unfortunate enough to possess it. No one is safe, and at night a mysterious car with red headlights prowls.
If I had to describe Black Chariot, I would say it is something like Vertigo and Psycho meets Carnival of Souls, with a dash of Val Lewton's The Seventh Victim. Despite its throwback style, Black Chariot is a very unsettling and disturbing film. You'll need a blanket!
Black Chariot, along with Amicus Productions' In the Grip of Terror, represents our determination to champion traditional filmmaking and storytelling with inspiration from the golden era of British cinema.
On Alfred Hitchcock's birthday, I can think of no better tribute to him than indie filmmakers producing new films inspired by his greatness and the other artists who have come before me.
Black Chariot offers sumptuous Blu-rays with beautiful artwork and hours of extras, digital downloads, bundles of goodies, as well as thank-you credits and producer rewards which will see your name appear in the film’s scrolling credits and IMDb.
Here is an example of our Blu-ray Special Edition.
Our film also stars Laurence R. Harvey of The Human Centipede films in a role like you've never seen him perform before. But... enough of that!
Let me get you that link so you can enjoy my absurd pitch video, which I think is our best yet!
Here is a revised version of your update with improved grammar and clarity:
Firstly, I would like to invite everyone to join my project, the "British Horror Studio," where you can see behind-the-scenes updates about our horror film studio, which is, of course, also a fantasy horror film studio. This is where I will be floating ideas and concepts for the sequel to The Slave and the Sorcerer as well.
At the moment, we are pursuing an Egyptian-style setting inside a pyramid as a concept. This would also see the return of Arlo the Torturer (mutilated from his first battle against Tyrol) but now aided by his three, er... lithe and erotic sons. If you picture Sting from the 80s Dune, you'll be pretty close.
We love the idea of Nemain stepping up to play a sort of antagonist-ally, under the sway of a ruthless and ancient advisor, to be played by a very respectable theatre actor (with bills to pay). Bahaha!
Should we have ancient mummies? Yes. Should we have snake-headed warriors? Yes. Should Nemain keep a harem of beautiful young women? Yes!
To give you an idea of our schedule, I am currently working on the post-production for Black Chariot and the shoot for Amicus Productions' In the Grip of Terror. After that, we'll be making our production plans for this!
On a Personal Note
I want to thank you for your support, especially those of you who understand that supporting an artist like myself and joining me on this journey is what Kickstarter is all about. It's an adventure, and I'm glad to be sharing it with you!
Regards,
Lawrie Brewster

Announcing My New Movie - Black Chariot by Hex Studios - A Hitchcockian Horror Movie
over 1 year ago
– Wed, Jul 17, 2024 at 08:15:46 AM
"Ride the black chariot to doom... in this Hitchcockian horror, where a cursed car avenges a murder with chilling ghostly retribution."
Today, I am thrilled to launch the pre-launch Kickstarter page for Black Chariot, a film that has been shot and is now in post-production. This project ranks among the most disturbing and haunting creations of my career, with even the production itself having an uncanny atmosphere. Black Chariot stars the enigmatic black Wolseley 15/50 featured in our Amicus pitch video, alongside the stunning Nemain (Megan Tremethick) herself, from The Slave and the Sorcerer as you've never seen her before.
As a child, I was haunted by the macabre imagination of Alfred Hitchcock. His films, such as Rebecca (1940), Vertigo (1958), and Psycho (1960), held an unnerving grip over my fears and had a formative influence on my filmmaking.
Like Hitchcock, I have often favored the beautiful muse, placing them in the terrifying and labyrinthine realms of my own horror imagination. Romantic and terrifying...
Nowhere is this more evident than in Black Chariot, a black-and-white supernatural thriller that combines my inspirations from Hitchcock with noir classics such as The Big Sleep (1946) and Val Lewton's The Seventh Victim (1943) and Cat People (1942).
These films hail from a long-lost, classic, and beautiful era of visual storytelling that I want to champion and revive. There’s no better way to achieve this than by rolling up your sleeves and collaborating with like-minded artists and audiences.
I aim to produce beautiful-looking terror, and I believe Black Chariot delivers on this promise. The story follows a heist gone wrong, involving three young impressionable gangsters and a female hostage, led by a corrupt bank manager (played by a horror legend whose role will blow your minds).
At their meeting point in a dark forest, they encounter a mysterious red light, where they must deliver a red case to a horrifying client known as 'The Devil.'
I'm already saying too much... This is a film of whispers, nuance, and betrayal, and then... when it happens...
When it taps at the car window at night.
Pure Terror.
How You Can Help
My friends, we are developing gorgeous Blu-rays and goodies to help fund the completion of Black Chariot. With the launch of our Kickstarter pre-launch page, we're humbly asking everyone who might appreciate a vintage chiller and yearn for that period of filmmaking to return, to please sign up.
P.S. That's all great, about Black Chariot but what about The Slave and the Sorcerer! Megan is preparing to record some voice-over narrations for her Jigme adventure rewards, but the decision has not yet been made about whether we should produce a sequel film.
This decision is based on the popularity of our film among you - the people who helped make it possible.
That decision is a YES! Of course, this means we'll be working our way through the production of our horror films first, which includes Black Chariot and Amicus Production's In the Grip of Terror. However, you can rest assured that we remain steadfast in our support and advocacy for the return of unsanitised, greasy, sexy sorceresses and shiny-looking barbarians fighting in underground lairs, bringing back the very best memories of the '80s and the unforgiving rule-set of 2nd Edition Dungeons and Dragons!
THAC0 for the win!
A Sneak Peek at Nemain the Sorceress Demonic Photo Shoot!

A Devilish Sneak Peek at Our Gothic Leading Lady's Demonic Photo Set!
I'm delighted to share with you an exclusive sneak peek at our very own Nemain the Sorceress, occult-themed demonic photo shoot, featured in her Osoroshii photo set, available exclusively on her horror movie Kickstarter campaign, 'Spoiling You'.
I've seen the full set, and it's quite daring and, well... disturbing. After all, she's a demon and she does terrible things—some of which are just too scary to post here!
Actually, I've witnessed what happens if you accidentally eat Meg's chocolate in the fridge... While this photo set features gothic eroticism, the terror it also portrays almost matches her reaction to missing chocolate!
We're giving Meg our full support at Hex Studios! She'll be using our resources and our specially qualified team of middle-aged men (well-fed on bacon rolls and black coffee) to help her create a horror opus like no other. We're doing this because she's such a talented young woman and has impressed us all.
Behold, the sumptuous Blu-ray of Spoiling You!
If you haven't pledged already, please visit this link and consider supporting this very special young lady! We will be guaranteeing the production of her Blu-rays, so we'll have the backs of all our backers too!
ALSO... during the remainder of Meg's campaign, a match pledger is willing to match 50% of each pledge made. So, there really isn't a better time to support 'Spoiling You' than right now!
Sneak Peek of Nemain the Sorceress (Meg) in new Horror Sword and Sorcery!
– Tue, Jun 11, 2024 at 07:02:48 AM
So, our very own Nemain the Sorceress (The Meg!) has secured a 48-hour match pledger for her campaign 'Spoiling You', the J-Horror throwback thriller which I believe is going to be amazing. In support of her campaign, I have made a Gothic Medieval Lovecraftian epic available as rewards or add-ons.
I have that much faith in Meg, and to show you what I see in her, I'd love to give you a sneak peek into a work-in-progress scene for 'The Reign of Queen Ginnarra'. To me, it evokes something of her personal heroine, Hazel Court, especially her characterisation of Juliana in 'The Masque of the Red Death'.
Rest assured, this film, which runs for about two and a half hours, is perhaps the first ever medieval Lovecraftian epic. It's been in post-production for a while now and is mostly in the hands of the sound team. They live in a cave by the sea, and you can always hear their screaming at night.
I've also got to give Meg a plug for this. She directed a samurai-style sword fighting scene in the movie with a bunch of stunt guys in the snow. She loves swordplay herself and can regularly deflect all the empty bourbon glasses I throw at her on a Friday night!
So, to get 'The Reign of Queen Ginnarra', you can pledge for it as a standalone reward in the regular Blu-Ray edition or the Complete Edition on her campaign page for 'Spoiling You'. Alternatively, you can pledge for it as an add-on too, if you want to grab her J-Horror throwback movie 'Spoiling You'—which I heartily recommend! After all, my taste is exquisite and debauched! In fact, I probably have the jaded appetites of an 18th-century aristocrat or a Tory cabinet minister!
Huzzah!
ALSO... You can get producer credits or thank you credits on this movie. So, do check out the add-ons for those, or get in touch with me directly if you have any questions!
For those who need to test their pacemakers, we have the Kawaii and Osoroshii photo-sets. Updated, the reward graphic shows some of the costume items Meg has taken delivery of and is preparing to use in the photo-sets. The demonic Osoroshii photo-set in particular promises to be something special, with a characterisation inspired by the goddess Slan from the popular Manga series 'Berserk' and, of course, the anime films of Yoshiaki Kawajiri!
And finally...
For all you Nemain fans, you can now pledge for SIGNED versions of her previous films in which she stars. This includes the supernatural thriller 'Ghost Crew'. These are now available as add-ons and come signed. Each of them is a beautiful Blu-Ray package stacked with hours of extras and will be dispatched immediately after the campaign!
